In Southern Africa, the SADC region has several large scientific (mostly astronomy and bioinformatic) projects which include researchers from South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland...<br /><br />These researchers come from very different backgrounds, speaking different languages. I think there is possibly much to learn from the latin American experience in this area in our region.
