EGI and OGF

The European Grid Initiative (EGI) tries to define the glue between the National Grid Initiatives (NGIs), which includes interoperability between the middlewares deployed in different countries. In order to converge towards a common, permanent infrastructure, EGI needs to collaborate with standardization organizations such as OGF. As emphasized in the question by Andrew Grimshaw after my invited presentation in the plenary today, EGI will not re-invent the wheel, in this case do its own specifications. Instead, in EGI we want to leverage the huge experience assembled within OGF to support the interoperability between different middlewares.
