last night gala dinner with much fun. then off into town. it rained at my chosen departure time so only 8 of the 30 potentials made it in the pioneer group. but plenty more turned up over the next few hours - choosing a well-known rendezvous point turned out to be wise. its unclear how I woke up in my bed. (later: congratulations for Gerhild on giving the first clue about what happened; congratulations to the GridCast staff for the actual delivery of the body).
