¿Una forma más verde? Our first GridBriefing in Spanish!

GridTalk’s GridBriefings are being translated into Spanish, and the first Spanish briefing – ‘Las Grid y la Computatión Verde’ (Grids and Green Computing) – is available now.

GridBriefings provide timely summaries of key issues in grid computing in jargon-free language.To date they’ve covered subjects such as cloud computing , standardisation, eHealth and eHumanities. GridBriefings target policy makers as well as scientists and the general public, and thanks to a partnership between the GridTalk and REUNA (the Chilean National Research and Education Network) to Spanish speakers in their native language.

The first GridBriefing released in Spanish puts the spotlight on green computing. Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing us in the 21st century and, across the globe, efforts are being made to cut down on energy usage and carbon emissions. This GridBriefing discusses how grid computing and green ICT can help us reach a greener future.

Los GridBriefings de GridTalk están siendo traducidos al español, y el primero “Las Grid y la Computatión Verde” ya está disponible en línea.

GridBriefings proporciona oportunos resúmenes sobre temas clave en computación grid, en un lenguaje libre de tecnicismos. Hasta la fecha, han cubierto temas como la computación en nube, estandarización, e-Salud y e-Humanidades. GridBriefings está dirigido a los tomadores de decisión y gestores de políticas, a los científicos y el público en general, y gracias a una colaboración entre el proyecto GridTalk y REUNA (red nacional de investigación y eduación chilena), ahora están a disposición de los hispano parlantes en su lengua materna.

El primer GridBriefing en español está dedicado a la computación verde. El cambio climático es uno de los mayores desafíos que enfrentamos en el siglo 21 y, en todo el mundo, se están haciendo importantes esfuerzos para reducir el uso de la energía y las emisiones de carbono. Este GridBriefing discute cómo la computación grid y las TIC verdes puede ayudar a alcanzar un futuro más ecológico.
