Gearing up for Uppsala!

As the grand finale to its series of large events, EGEE heads North later this month for the final User Forum in Uppsala, Sweden, April 12 – 15.

As some of us in the Project Office try hastily to finish Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (and some of us – yours truly – nurture deluded hopes of starting and finishing it in time) I thought you might like to know a little more about where we are heading.

First things first:

The event Web site (egee-uf5.eu-egee.org) is a source of much of the information you’ll need including the online programme, registry information, training at the event and who to contact if you need to cancel or have special questions.

It also holds great information about how to get to the city from the airports, what to see and do there (though I’ll bring you more about this as well) and recommended restaurants (we are fortunately in no danger of starving there). Go ahead and let us know if there is other information you’d like to see there that is missing.

To help us all share sights, sounds and impressions of the event, this blog will be ‘a hum with action. If you are planning to take pictures, you can tag your photos on Flickr.com with “EGEEUF10” to share them. We’ll also be tweeting, tag your tweets #EGEE to be part of the conversation.

Prata med dig om några dagar!

There is also a brewery:

Whether we can drink there or not remains to be seen but I'm sure we will be able to taste their beer in local hostelries.
