Engaging European DCIs together Workshop - Monday 31st May & 1st June Metropole Hotel, Brussels


The FP7 SIENA (Standards and Interoperability for eInfrastructure Implementation Initiative project) is coordinating the Engaging European DCIs Together free event, organized in Brussels from the 31st May and kindly sponsored by Microsoft with a welcome reception and morning open session continuing on 1 June 2010.
The event is an opportunity for major Research and Enterprise Communities to meet representatives from the Distributed Computing Infrastructure projects and help develop integrated interactions for the whole community and will contribute to defining a future eInfrastructures roadmap focusing on interoperability and standards, in close collaboration with the European Commission, Distributed Computing Infrastructures projects and Standard Development Organisations (SDOs).

The event opens on 31 May 2010 with a Welcome Reception, 19:00 - 22:00, at the Microsoft Executive Briefing Centre, Brussels, 85 Rue des Nerviens kindly hosted by Microsoft where key representatives will offer a brief Microsoft vision on the field of Distributed Computing Infrastructure.
The 1st June will start with a European Commission keynote from Kostantinos Glinos Head of Géant & Infrastructures at DG Information Society & Media who will provide insight on the advances in e-Infrastructures landscape & EC expectations. Participation is free of charge but subject to on-line registration.
