As commented today by Steven Newhouse in his opening presentation, EGI is going to collaborate with the others FP7 Distributed Computing Infrastructure (DCI) projects to define a common roadmap whose aim is to make it clear how the provision of e-Infrastructures in Europe could evolve over the next 5 years. Each of the DCI projects will collaborate addressing the issues of providing reliable services to the several user european user communities in a sustainable and long-term way.
SIENA (Standards and Interoperability for e-Infrastructures Implementation Initiative) will help on these activities reinforcing the role of standardization for interoperable grids and clouds.
As one of its main objectives, SIENA initiative contributes to defining a future e-Infrastructures Roadmap focused on interoperability and standards, in close collaboration with the European Commission, DCI projects, policy groups, scientific user communities, and standards development organisations.
These collaborations will be discussed and analyzed during the DCI projects session on Wednesday 15 September 2010 at 11:00, Graanbeurszaal room.
