The starting pistol for the EGI Technical Forum fires on Tuesday, so after several volunteers spent their Sunday setting up the impressive networking facilities, Monday is earmarked for the EGI-InSPIRE task leaders warm up event. This morning we reviewed the progress achieved during the first months of the project (5 deliverables and 27 milestones!) and looked ahead to the key priorities for the next 6 months. Not to mention setting out with a map and a compass to find the conference office for the local team, tucked away somewhere off one of the venue's corridors, with its excellent view of the Beursplein square (see above).
Today we are sharing the Beurs van Berlage with the BiG Grid User Day, the Dutch NGI's showcase of the some of the key work from Dutch grid users, including the WeNMR biomedical imaging project and the FlySafe project, tracking bird migration patterns to help avoid bird strikes. Some of the demos will be available at the EGI Technical Forum later this week, so make sure you visit the demo booths in the Grote Zaal during the breaks.
The sun is even shining in Amsterdam today, so get here early to make the most of it!
