At the moment Ian Osborne (Intellect) is talking about Government as a Service in the session "Public Services and eGovernment use cases & Distributed Computing Infrastructure (DCI) use cases" chaired by Enric Mitjana (EC).
He is presenting the vision and benefits of G-Cloud, where services and data can be shared among different institutions. G-Cloud is the Public Sector brand for trusted cloud computing enabling cost savings.
Ian outlines the requirement of standards, policies, certification, and management.
An interesting thing in G-Cloud is the Government Applications Store. A crucial thing talking about Government data is security - of course.
