Re-defining users?

Just a quick thought:first day at this User Forum brought the question, who is actually our user? Increasingly, it seems to be a system administrator, or a software engineer developing a higher-level workflow or other tool. The gory details of infrastructure operations or middleware development, technology peculiarities and standards are quite clearly of little interest for end-users. Perhaps it is time to re-define users?
