This year’s EGI User Forum and EMI Technical Conference has been particularly good for networking, and a number of Memoranda of Understanding have been signed between several of the projects attending.

As project coordinator for e-ScienceTalk, which brings you this blog, I was also very pleased to sign three more MoUs between e-ScienceTalk and other projects. We have already previously signed MoUs with e-IRGSP2/3, the support project to the e-Infrastructure Reflection Group and EUIndiaGrid2, which is building bridges between European and Indian e-infrastructures. We have also signed very recently with LINKSCEEM2, linking scientific computing in Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.

This week I have been delighted to sign new MoUs with Alexandre Bonvin of WeNMR, a worldwide e-infrastructure for NMR and structural biology and with Bernard Marechal of GISELA, grid initiatives for e-science virtual communities in Europe and Latin America. I am also pleased to have signed an agreement with Federico Ruggieri of CHAIN, which coordinates and harmonises advanced e-infrastructures in many regions, including Latin America, India, China, Europe and more. It was at their kick off meeting in Rome in December that the road to these MoUs began. I and the e-ScienceTalk team are looking forward to working closely with these exciting projects on disseminating their results over the coming months -watch this space!
