EMI & IGE: “together we stand, divided we fall”…

Third day at the Community forum…things are evolving faster. Many talks described middleware services which provide technologies that connect distributed resources creating an infrastructure for use across Europe and beyond. These include CREAM and ARC described yesterday in the EMI sessions where the job-related processing elements of the middleware have been presented. Needless to say that an important note goes to the signature of the new Memorandum of Understanding between EMI and IGE…. Indeed yesterday, after several weeks of negotiation, maintaining the tradition as a leading example of collaboration to produce a cohesive and interoperable middleware solution, EMI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The purpose is to define a framework of collaboration between EMI and IGE. Thanks to this Memorandum of Understanding, users will be able to use a common infrastructure, benefitting from the computing cutting edge technologies provided by both these Initiatives. So, just as the saying: “together we stand, divided we fall”…

The window on the middleware evolutions will continue today, with the overview of the upcoming EMI 2 snapshot release and tutorials demonstrating some key features contained in EMI 2.
