Speaking to Steve Brewer about EGI Champions

In a whirlwind week of exciting talks, illuminating conversations and great food and company, one of the most exciting announcements of the week at EGI Technical Forum 2012 was EGI Champions, which I heard about in the communications session on Tuesday in an excellent presentation from EGI's User Community Support Officer, Richard McLennan. EGI Champions really formalises a practice that has been going on throughout the e-science community, including at EGI, whereby certain star users of EGI's e-infrastructure act as beacons to attract new users in sciences currently underrepresented in the user-base (such as life and molecular sciences).
