The first of HealthGrid 2009's demos was kicked off by a fantastic presentation of Health-e-Child by Jörg Freund and David Manset. Take a look at some snippets from their talk below:
Health-e-Child is a great project which aims at developing an integrated healthcare platform for European paediatrics, incoporating both traditional and emerging sources of biomedical information. Their long-term goal is to provide uninhibited access to universal biomedical knowledge repositories for personalised and preventive healthcare, large-scale information-based biomedical research and training, and informed policy making.
Want more? Take a look at this video on euronews which shows how Health-e-Child can be used to help youngsters like Ugo Matteo, who was born with a congenital heart disease.

Using the Grid to see DNA
The first of our webcasts from HealthGrid 2009 is here!
Although they had the tricky job of giving the the last presentation of the day Tobias Knoch and Nick Kepper gave a fantastic demo showing off their GLOBE 3D Genome Browser.
For a peek at the best parts of the demo and to find out some of the cool things the GLOBE 3D Genome Browser can do take a look at the video below..
(Also one of my first attempts of filming and editing - so any tips would be greatly appreciated!)
