OGSA-DAI practical

Finally I managed to finish a practical in time!!!

I've done now the three OGSA-DAI exercises and what's more important... I understand what I've been doing!

I had heard a lot about OGSA-DAI and what it did, but I had no idea how it actually works and how to use it...

Very, very good practical...

What?! No idea what OGSA-DAI does?! I thought we made that clear in the lectures. At the simplest level OGSA-DAI can be used to provide web service access to a data resource, such as a database. You more or less did this in the practical. You could then provide a portal that would allow a client to chose a set of transforms to apply to the data and different delivery methods. This would construct an OGSA-DAI workflow and do the required task. That is at the most basic level. You can also now begin to create workflows that will pull data from various sources, transform it, do a join and then send it back to a user via some delivery methods. Gradually you can build more complex workflows that do more complex integration. I don't know if this help you regarding some of the ends that you can begin to apply OGSA-DAI in.
