Past EGEEs and the Gender Action Plan

It's been five and half years since EGEE held its first conference in Cork, Ireland. Since then, EGEE conferences have "travelled" far and wide, via Den Haag (The Netherlands), Athens (Greece), Pisa (Italy), Geneva (Switzerland), Budapest (Hungary) and Istanbul (Turkey). Next week sees the last of the EGEE conferences, this time in Barcelona (Spain), and I am looking forward to meeting colleagues again, old and new.... Conferences are always an extremely busy time for the Project Office, and the final stages of preparation for EGEE09 are now in full swing. For my part in particular, conferences are a time to touch base with all our Administrative Committee colleagues, and take part in the Collaboration Board and Project Management Board meetings. It is also the ideal occasion to run our Gender Action activities, and this time we will be hosting a networking lunch to which all are welcome, on Wednesday 23rd September. I will be writing more about this interesting topic in future posts - in the meantime, it's back to work and see you all next week!
