Don’t go home empty-handed! Visit Pilies Street for Treasures!

If you break away tomorrow afternoon, visit Pilies street in Old Town Vilnius, southeast of Vilnius Cathedral. There you will find several Amber, linen, and novelty stores. The street vendors sell beautiful hand-knitted woolen mittens and socks too.

If you like chocolate (and who doesn’t?) you will want to visit Sokoladas. Handmade creations, including beautiful Easter eggs, are their specialty, but you can also find scrumptious desserts and the best coffee I’ve had in Vilnius. In their front window, there is a life-size tea party scene, crafted entirely of multicolored chocolate! The décor is very beautiful, and the place has a great vibe. You won’t leave until you have a chocolate buzz going!

Take it from a woman who collects the stuff, Lithuania is one of the best places in the world to buy Amber jewelry, and everything is reasonably priced! Additionally, there are beautifully crafted, well-priced gold filigree pieces made with seed pearls, sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds!
