It's Cloudy over the Grid

How can the EGEE Project benefit from Cloud Technology?

How can the RESERVOIR Project help Grid infrastructures?

Did you know that EGEE and RESERVOIR are already working together to explore how the institutes providing computing resources to EGEE could benefit from adopting private and hybrid cloud models to provide resources? The RESERVOIR virtualization manager, built on the OpenNebula Virtual Infrastructure Engine, offers the ability for EGEE sites to easily meet the changing needs of the users, from scaling up services to meet peak loads and improving redundancy or to changing the resources provided to run particular applications. In fact, OpenNebula is the selected technology for this collaboration between projects.

I you want to take part of an historical session convened by Dr. Steven Newhouse and Prof. Ignacio M. Llorente where all of this will be explained, don't miss it today afternoon!

(Yes, you're right, the picture comes from my EGEE 4th Forum "Bonus Post" :-D)
